Obtaining an Airside Pass
✈️ To work within the Restricted Zone or "Airside" at an Airport, you will require an Airside Pass.

🗂️ Step 1: Request Your 5-Year Employment History from HMRC
If you’ve been PAYE employed at any point in the last 5 years, you must provide a full employment history.
You can request this by:
📞 Calling HMRC: 01355 359022

Monday to Saturday: 8am – 8pm

Sunday: 9am – 5pm
Ask for: “A letter confirming your full 5-year employment history for airport vetting purposes.”
👉 Skip this step if you have not been PAYE employed in the last 5 years.
🧾 Step 2: If You Have Been Self-Employed in the Last 5 Years
If you have been self-employed within the last 5 years, you’ll need to provide your SA302 statements.
To obtain them:

Once downloaded:

Go to PAYE → Scroll down to Employment History → Generate and download a PDF
OR
📞 Call HMRC: 01355 359022 and request a letter confirming your full 5-year employment history.
👉 Skip this step if you have not been self-employed in the last 5 years.
📄 Step 3: Request a Statement of Claim from the DWP
If you have claimed any benefits within the last 5 years, you must provide a benefit statement.

📋 What You'll Need for Your Vetting Application:
Please ensure you gather the following documents and information:

5-Year Reference History
(Employment, Education, Benefit Claim, Self-employment, or Gap periods) -
Personal or Gap Referee
(Not living at the same address, not related, no past/current relationships or current colleagues) -
5-Year Address History

Photo ID (Clear colour copy, showing all 4 corners, no glare)

Proof of Address (Letter dated within the last 2 months from a Utility provider, HMRC, or Bank/Building Society – clear and complete copy)

DBS / Basic Criminal Record Check (Must be dated within 10 weeks of submission to the Airport ID Centre)
